“I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.”
פֶּשַׁע
Transgression, rebellion. Pesha. Wilful rebellion against God. Not just a mistake but a deliberate crossing of a known boundary. God forgives even this completely.
כָּסָה
I covered

To cover, to conceal. Kasah. He who covers his sin will not prosper. Covering sin keeps it alive. Confessing it ends it. Bring it into the light.
