Behold, look, see. Idou. Scripture uses this word to arrest attention before something significant. God is about to speak. Pay attention.

To stand, to set, to place. Histemi. Having done all stand. Stand therefore. When you have done everything else there is still this. Stand in what Christ has already accomplished.

Mountain, hill. Oros. I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD. Mountains are a reminder to look up not just around.

Zion, hill of Jerusalem, the Church. Siṓn. The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. From a physical hill, the name expands to hold the whole people of God. You belong to what it points to.

One hundred, a hundredfold. Hekatón. Jesus promised that those who sacrifice for the kingdom will receive a hundredfold in return. God's multiplication defies human math. Trust the return.

Forty. Tessarákonta. Forty days in the wilderness, forty years in the desert: God uses this number to mark seasons of testing and formation. Endure the forty. Something is being built in you.

Four. Téssares. Four corners of the earth, four winds of heaven, four living creatures around the throne. In Scripture, four often marks the fullness of creation. God's reach leaves nothing uncovered.

One thousand, a chiliad. Chilias. The thousand-year reign, the thousand generations of covenant faithfulness — God operates at scales beyond human reckoning. Do not shrink His promises to fit your timeline.

To have, to hold, to possess. I have learned in whatever state I am to be content. Contentment is not about having more but appreciating what you have.

A name, a reputation, a character. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. The name of Jesus is unique and exclusive.

When Jesus teaches His disciples to pray, He begins with the most radical word imaginable — Father. In the ancient world, approaching God as Father was almost unthinkable. Jesus opens the door and says: this is how you come. Not as a subject before a king. As a child before a Father who already knows what you need.

To write, to record. These things are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ and have life in His name.

Forehead, the face's frontmost place. Métōpon. In Revelation, the forehead marks allegiance, sealed by God or branded by the beast. What you belong to, you bear openly.
