Sign, miracle, token, wonder. Semeion. Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe. Signs point beyond themselves. The miracle is never the main thing. It points to the One who does it.

Heaven, sky, the dwelling of God. Ouranos. Our Father in heaven. Heaven is not just a place but a presence. The Father is there. And where the Father is is home.

Great, large, important. Megas. A great door and effectual is opened. God opens great doors. Do not settle for small thinking about a great God. He works on a grand scale.

Wonderful, worthy of wonder. Thaumastós. This is the word used of the stone the builders rejected becoming the cornerstone. What God does confounds human expectation. Do not overlook the marvelous.

Seven, the number of completion. Hepta. Scripture marks sevens everywhere: days of creation, churches, seals, spirits before the throne. When God uses seven, he is signaling fullness. Pay attention.

To have, to hold, to possess. I have learned in whatever state I am to be content. Contentment is not about having more but appreciating what you have.

Stroke, wound, calamity. Plēgē. The plagues of Revelation are plēgai, divine strokes that expose the hardness of hearts. Every wound points to either judgment or healing.

Last, final. I am the first and the last. Jesus holds both ends of time. Nothing catches Him by surprise and nothing is beyond His reach.

Complete, finish, fulfill. Teleō. "It is finished" rang from the cross as every debt discharged, every purpose concluded. Nothing God begins goes incomplete. Trust the one who finishes what he starts.

Rage, fierce passion, wrath. Thymos. The works of the flesh include outbursts of this kind of hot, breathing anger. Let all bitterness and wrath be put away from you. Put it down.

God. Theos. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The ultimate reality. The source of all existence. Personal knowable and present.
