“For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.”
προφήτης
Prophet, one who speaks forth. Prophetes. No prophecy was ever produced by the will of man. The prophets spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

they have poured out,

To pour out, to shed. Ekcheo. I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh. Pentecost was the fulfilment of Joel's prophecy. The Spirit is still being poured out today.
