“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

To stand, to set, to place. Histemi. Having done all stand. Stand therefore. When you have done everything else there is still this. Stand in what Christ has already accomplished.

To enter, to go in, to come in. Eiserchomai. Enter through the narrow gate. The narrow gate requires humility. Pride cannot fit through it. Only those who bow can enter.

To knock. Krouo. Knock and the door will be opened. Persistence in prayer is not lack of faith. It is an expression of it. Keep knocking. He answers those who persist.
