“And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,”

Darkness, obscurity, ignorance. Skotos. The people living in darkness have seen a great light. Darkness is the condition before Christ. Light is the reality after. Choose the light.

To persuade, to trust, to be confident. Peitho. I am confident that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. God finishes what He starts in those who yield.
