“Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.”

Wages, reward, pay. Misthos. Behold I am coming quickly and My reward is with Me. Following Jesus comes with a reward. Not payment for works but the gift of His presence forever.

Grace, favour, gift, charm. Charis. By grace you have been saved through faith. Grace is God giving what we do not deserve. It is His nature expressed toward those who need Him.

Debt, that which is owed. Opheilema. Forgive us our debts. Sin is described as a debt. Jesus paid what we owed completely. The debt is cancelled not deferred.

To work, to labour. Whatever you do work heartily as for the Lord and not for men. God sees every task you do in His name.
