“By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

Glory, honour, splendour. Doxa. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory. Glory is the weight and radiance of God's presence. It transforms everything it touches.

Access, approach, introduction. Prosagoge. Through Him we have access in one Spirit to the Father. Access to God is not earned. It is given through Christ. Walk through the open door.

Faith, trust, belief, faithfulness. Pistis. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith is the currency of the kingdom. Everything flows to those who trust God completely.

To stand, to set, to place. Histemi. Having done all stand. Stand therefore. When you have done everything else there is still this. Stand in what Christ has already accomplished.

Grace, favour, gift, charm. Charis. By grace you have been saved through faith. Grace is God giving what we do not deserve. It is His nature expressed toward those who need Him.

To boast, to glory, to exult. Kauchaomai. Let him who boasts boast in the Lord. The only legitimate boasting is about what God has done. Human achievement is a poor foundation.

Hope, expectation, confidence. Elpis. Hope does not disappoint. Biblical hope is not wishful thinking. It is confident expectation based on the character of God.

Who, which, that, the one who. He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. God finishes what He starts.

To have, to hold, to possess. I have learned in whatever state I am to be content. Contentment is not about having more but appreciating what you have.
