“But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”

Law, rule, principle. Nomos. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free. The highest law is not written on stone. It is written by the Spirit on the heart.

New, fresh, recently made. Kainos. A new commandment I give you. Kainos means new in quality not just new in time. The new covenant is better in kind not just newer in age.
