“Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?”

Desert, wilderness, solitary place. Eremos. He withdrew to a wilderness place and prayed. The wilderness is not punishment. It is often the training ground for the greatest seasons.
