“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.”

The one set apart and equipped for a specific task. Oil was poured on kings, priests and prophets in the Old Testament — the anointing meant: this one is chosen, this one is sent. Jesus stands up in Nazareth and reads Isaiah — and then says: this is Me. I am the one sent.

To seek, to look for, to desire. Zeteo. Seek first the kingdom of God. Seeking is active not passive. The kingdom does not come to those who wait passively. Seek it.

To rise up, to stand up, to arise. Anistemi. He is risen. The central claim of Christianity. If Christ has not been raised your faith is futile. But He has risen.
