“And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear.”
עָוֺן
Iniquity, guilt, punishment. Avon. He forgives all your iniquity. God does not just forgive the act. He removes the guilt and the punishment.

is too great

Great, large, elder. Gadol. God is gadol and greatly to be praised. His greatness is beyond all measure and beyond all comparison.
