“And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:”

Not logos — the written word — but rhema, the word spoken in the moment. The angel says to Mary: no rhema from God shall be without power. Every specific word God speaks into your situation carries the ability to accomplish itself. He does not speak empty words.

In Greek thought, the logos was the rational principle holding the universe together. John opens his Gospel with this word — not as a concept, but as a person. In the beginning was the Word. Before anything existed, the Word already was.
