“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”

Whoever, whichever, any who. Hostis. The word points not to a specific named person but to anyone who meets the condition. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also. Identity here is defined by response.
