“Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.”
σημεῖον
Sign, miracle, token, wonder. Semeion. Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe. Signs point beyond themselves. The miracle is never the main thing. It points to the One who does it.

Therefore, then, accordingly. Therefore since we have been justified through faith we have peace with God. The therefore of Scripture always builds on something God has already done.
