“Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”

To be strong, to be able. Ischuo. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The ability is His. The willingness is yours. Together they accomplish everything.

To enter, to go in, to come in. Eiserchomai. Enter through the narrow gate. The narrow gate requires humility. Pride cannot fit through it. Only those who bow can enter.

To seek, to look for, to desire. Zeteo. Seek first the kingdom of God. Seeking is active not passive. The kingdom does not come to those who wait passively. Seek it.

Narrow, tight, compressed. Stenos. Enter through the narrow gate. The narrow way is not popular. It never has been. But it leads to life and the other way does not.

Door, gate, entrance. Thura. I am the door. Whoever enters through Me will be saved. Jesus is not a door among many options. He is the door. The only way in.

To say, to speak with authority. Jesus said and it was so. When Jesus speaks everything listens. His words carry the weight of creation behind them.

Many, much, great. Polus. Much fruit. Many witnesses. Great grace. God is not stingy. He gives abundantly to those who are connected to the vine.
