“When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:”
ἐγείρω
To raise up, to awaken, to arouse. Egeiro. He is not here He has risen. The resurrection is the pivot of history. Everything before it points to it. Everything after flows from it.
ἵστημι
to have stood

To stand, to set, to place. Histemi. Having done all stand. Stand therefore. When you have done everything else there is still this. Stand in what Christ has already accomplished.

Lord, master, owner. Kurios. Jesus is Lord. The foundational confession of Christianity. Lord means owner. To confess Jesus as Lord is to surrender ownership of your life.
