“And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,”

Desert, wilderness, solitary place. Eremos. He withdrew to a wilderness place and prayed. The wilderness is not punishment. It is often the training ground for the greatest seasons.
