One, a single one, unity. Heis. The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Oneness is not uniformity but wholeness. Let nothing divide what God has declared united.

Jesus. Iesous. The Greek form of Yeshua meaning the LORD saves. The name given before His birth. In His name is salvation healing and authority over every power of darkness.

Stretch out, extend, reach. Ekteínō. Jesus stretched out his hand and healed the untouchable. When God reaches toward humanity, it is always with purpose. Reach back.

Hand. Cheir. Into Your hands I commit my spirit. The hands that made the universe were the hands that were nailed to the cross. He gave everything including His hands.

A sword. The sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. It cuts between soul and spirit. It is sharper than any two-edged sword.

Strike, smite, knock down. Patássō. God strikes down enemies and disciplines his people. The same hand that smites Pharaoh also disciplines a son. Fear the one who holds it.

Slave, servant, bondservant. Doulos. Paul a servant of Jesus Christ. The highest title Paul claimed was slave of Christ. Belonging completely to Jesus is the greatest freedom.

Ear, earlobe. Otion. When Peter struck the servant's ear in the garden, Jesus healed it before going to the cross. Even in betrayal, mercy reached out. Let that sink in.
