Sponge. Spóngos. A soldier pressed one full of sour wine to the lips of Christ on the cross. Even in mockery, God's purposes were fulfilled. Nothing is too small or too crude for his sovereign use.

Fill, fulfill, imbue. Plḗthō. The Spirit fills what is empty and fulfills what is promised. Remain open to being filled.

Sour wine, vinegar. Oxos. Soldiers offered it to Jesus on the cross, a cheap drink given to the dying. Even in his final moments, he received bitterness and still forgave.

Place around, put on, present. Peritíthēmi. What is placed around a person declares something about them, whether a crown of thorns or a robe of honor. Consider what you are clothing others with through your words and actions.

Reed, pen, writing instrument. Kálamos. A reed could measure a temple or write a letter, a humble plant turned to holy purpose. Even simple things become sacred in God's hands.

To give drink, to water, to irrigate. Potizō. Paul planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. Our role is faithful supply, not final outcome. Water what is in front of you.
