“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.”

Blessed, happy, to be envied. Makarios. Blessed are the poor in spirit. Makarios describes the state of those who are right with God. It is deeper than happiness. It is well-being of the soul.

Merciful, compassionate. Eleemon. Blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy. Mercy shown returns as mercy received. What you give determines what you get.
