Lover of horses, a personal name. Philippos. Philip the apostle was called directly by Jesus, and became one of the Twelve. A common name, worn by ordinary men chosen for extraordinary purposes.

To come down, to descend. Katerchomai. Jesus came down from the mountain, the Spirit came down at Pentecost, wisdom comes down from above. What is truly from God descends to meet us. Watch for what comes from above.
