A parable, a comparison, a story with meaning. Jesus always taught in parables. A parable hides truth from the casual and reveals it to the hungry.

Kernel, seed, grain. Kókkos. Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone. Smallness is not weakness. Trust the burial.

Sown field, planted grain. Spórimos. Jesus walked through the grain fields on the Sabbath, where hungry disciples plucked what the earth had yielded. Even in ordinary ground, God provides. Look for provision in the places already planted.

To place beside, to set before, to present. I urge you brothers to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice. The presenting of yourself is the beginning of transformation.

To say, to speak with authority. Jesus said and it was so. When Jesus speaks everything listens. His words carry the weight of creation behind them.

Like, similar, resembling. The fourth person in the fire is like the Son of God. In the furnace of your trial Jesus is there with you.

Heaven, sky, the dwelling of God. Ouranos. Our Father in heaven. Heaven is not just a place but a presence. The Father is there. And where the Father is is home.

Mustard, the mustard plant. Sinapi. If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed. The mustard seed is tiny but becomes a large tree. Small faith in a great God accomplishes great things.

Receive, take, accept. Lambanō. What God offers must be actively received, not merely acknowledged. Reach out and take hold.

To scatter, to sow. Speirō. Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Every act of sowing is an act of faith. Sow well.
